The Center for Postgraduate Medical Education of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University is a modern multidisciplinary educational platform for healthcare professionals, students of higher education in the field of knowledge 22 Healthcare and non-medical specialties in the field of medical and preventive knowledge. The Center’s activities are based on the centuries-old traditions of higher medical education at Karazin University, one of the oldest classical universities in Eastern Europe, a leader in national and international rankings, a leading educational, cultural, and scientific center of Slobojan region, a stronghold of freedom, Ukrainianness, and democracy, a symbol of the indomitable hero city of Kharkiv.
The direct mission of the Center is to train doctors-interns during their internship in almost 20 specialties, to conduct cycles of secondary medical specialization and internships in 40 specialties, to improve the level of professional competence of doctors at more than 300 events of continuous professional development of health care professionals (numerous cycles of thematic improvement, trainings, simulation trainings, trainings on mastering practical skills, master classes, seminars, professional (thematic) schools, scientific and practical conferences).
Additionally, the Center participates in career guidance work with medical school applicants, conducts separate training programs and certificate courses for students of all specialties, offers a wide range of educational activities for non-medical specialties in the field of medical and preventive knowledge, namely in the field of emergency first aid, tactical medicine, nutrition, nutrition and anti-aging nutrition, basics of care for patients, children and the elderly, basic medical skills, healthy parenting and reproductive health.

The educational activities of the Center for all categories of students are based on the signature Karazin triad: powerful interdisciplinary theoretical training involving specialists from several faculties of the University, innovative teaching technologies (three state-of-the-art simulation centers, “virtual patient” technology, multimedia educational process, modern online educational platforms, etc. An important component of the comfortable learning process is the traditional friendly atmosphere of the Karazin academic community and full information and organizational support for students of all categories.
The Center offers education for Ukrainian citizens, as well as, within the current regulatory framework, for citizens of other countries and stateless persons in Ukrainian and English (internships, certificate programs with international certificates, advanced training for doctors of all specialties, etc.)
