Karazin School of Cardiology and Functional Diagnostics
The school provides undergraduate training in the school’s specialty, offers internships to graduates, invites healthcare professionals to secondary medical specialization cycles, internships and numerous CPD events with the award of CPD points.
The educational activities of the School provide fundamental interdisciplinary theoretical training of students based on the latest data of scientific research and evidence-based medicine with the wide integration of modern simulation training technologies at the best simulation center in the country and in real clinical practice at the clinical sites of the School of Medicine. A special feature of the School is a large proportion of practically oriented training in the clinical base of the department – Municipal Clinical Hospital No. 8, one of the best cardiology health care facilities in the city. The high scientific level of the School and its continuous participation in the world’s top scientific events, including the results of its own research, have a significant impact on the quality of training. All this makes the Karazin School of Cardiology and Functional Diagnostics one of the leading centers of postgraduate education for cardiologists and other specialties in the country.
The School is headed by a well-known scientist and clinician, Head of the Department of Cardiology, Laboratory and Functional Diagnostics, Doctor of Medicine, Professor, cardiologist Vira TSELUYKO – Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine, professional member of the European Association of Cardiologists, member of the Board of the Ukrainian Association of Cardiologists, Head of the Kharkiv Organization of the Ukrainian Association of Cardiologists, Honorary Doctor of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, awarded with the M. D. Strazhesko Medal for Merit in Healthcare, numerous diplomas of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, diplomas of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, and the Medix Triumph award in the nomination “The Most Active Local Organizer of the Distance Learning Project”. Vira Yosypivna supervised 4 doctoral dissertations and 35 PhD theses. She is the author of 8 monographs, the Cardiologist’s Handbook (4 editions), the Course of Lectures in Clinical Cardiology (2 editions) and more than 600 articles in professional journals. In recognition of the scientific scale of her work, according to the National H-index Ranking system, in 2024 Vira TSELUYKO became one of the best scientists in Ukraine among physicians and entered the TOP-50 scientists in the country.
The educational activities of the school are provided by a powerful interdepartmental scientific and pedagogical team, which includes leading specialists of the country. Following the interdisciplinary approach to the organization of events in the field of postgraduate education of cardiologists and doctors of other therapeutic specialties, the training of students of certain educational events is carried out by scientific and pedagogical specialists of other departments of the School of Medicine within their competence.
